Lead climbing opens the doors to the vertical world, allowing you to scale walls without pre-set ropes or gear. The skills required to become a proficient and safe leader can be scary to learn without proper instruction. Our course is designed to not only teach you the skills required to teach you to lead climb safely, but also tackle the mental challenges that come with lead climbing as well. Learn how to belay, clip, place quick draws, manage the rope, how to tackle the mental challenges while lead climbing, and more. Our course is designed to allow you to advance your skills at a comfortable pace by learning on the ground, transitioning mock leading, and finally real lead climbing.

How many participants come by themselves? Most participants (95%) who sign up for our group clinics come alone. If you are hesitating to join because you would be coming solo, please know that we expect a majority of our participants to be joining by themselves, seeking community.
I’ve never climbed before, can I still attend? This is not the clinic for you, Look into our Outdoor Climbing courses for beginners.
What is the average age of participants? We generally have a wide range of ages at our retreats. The average tends to fall anywhere between the ages of 26 to 45. But we have had quite a few people in their 60’s join as well. It really is up to the attitude and physical ability of the participant.
